BYU students stage 'I Can't Breathe' protest on campus


15 BYU students staged a flash mob demonstration on BYU campus on Dec. 10, 2019. The group sang "The Hanging Tree" song from the "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay part I" film while holding posters that read, "We Can't Breathe" and "Remembering Eric Garner" to voice their objection when a grand jury cleared an NYPD officer in any wrong-doing concerning the death of Eric Garner. Michael Brown and 12-year-old Tamir Rice were also honored during the civil protest, who were both shot and killed during confrontations with law enforcement officers.
